Metal Union Innovation Award


Slip Sheet AttachmentIn total there were 88 contributions for the award. In the end three nominees were still competing. After careful consideration of the jury MSE received the award from Dr. A.H.G. Rinnooy Kan, member of the jury and member of the board of the ING Group. Not only did MSE win a prestigious award, they also received € 5000,- and a day of free advice from a well-known research centre or university.
According to the jury it was an original product. The innovation was characterized by simplicity and endurance. Their opinion was that the company had made innovation an important part of the management.
When using RollerForks® it is possible to load and unload goods without the use of pallets. RollerForks® are in fact “standard” lift truck forks with two layers of rollers. When the under most rollers touch the floor, they cause the uppermost rollers to rotate in the opposite direction. In this way goods are easily placed on the forks. The rotation system is a very old principle, but MSE has made it suitable for applying for a worldwide patent. In the meantime the Dutch patent has become official and MSE expects other countries will soon follow. Apart from recognition of trade and industry there are also very enthusiastic reactions coming from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment.
The Ministry has placed RollerForks® on the FARBO list. This list contains machinery which contributes to improving working conditions. The government makes it interesting for companies to invest in this machinery by offering them a financial advantage. All these publications are very stimulating and it benefits to a faster introduction on the market. A large number of multinationals are very interested and also there are various units already operational within the food industry, beverage, paper industry, chemical industry and consumer goods.
