Pallet and Palletless Handling Equipment at ProMat Show

Pallet and Palletless Handling Equipment at ProMat ShowMSE-Forks will be exhibiting various products at ProMat on a stand covering some 108 m² (1,150 sq ft). MSE-Forks has already succeeded in selling many of its special-purpose products since establishing its own USA sales channel, e.g. the patented ROLLERFORKS® and KOOI-REACHFORKS® products. The latest in its ROLLERFORKS® PUSH-PULL system will be on display at ProMat. This push-pull system has many advantages over other existing push-pull systems, for example:
  • Good line of sight between separate units
  • Units can be laterally adjusted independently of one another to distribute loads evenly – hydraulically or mechanically
  • A single unit can be used for small, light loads
  • An adapter plate can be connected to link the two faceplates
  • Folding forks make it easy to engage slipsheets
  • Fast operating speed
At the stand, particular attention will be focussed on palletless handling, as this will be playing a major future role for companies looking to operate in a more environmentally friendly manner or looking to make cost savings by doing away with pallets during shipping. A greater percentage of container capacity can be utilized by placing loads on special-purpose carriers such as slipsheets. MSE-Forks helps interested companies look for slipsheet suppliers with its comprehensive online supplier database, which can be found at http://www.slipsheetsuppliers.com/.

One of the most prominent companies with palletless shipping high on its agenda is IKEA. The Swedish retailer has virtually reached the point that all its goods are supplied on special-purpose pallets from its production facilities all the way to its distribution centres. IKEA uses two types of pallet – one is a cardboard version and the other is an assembly system marketed under the name Optiledge®. This second system will also be exhibited at the ProMat show as a solution for palletless shipping.

Pallets remain the principle carriers for moving goods around inside warehouses and placing them in shelving units. KOOI-REACHFORKS® have become a household name within the logistics world. Over the past ten years, REACHFORKS® have been sold around the world for one-sided loading and unloading of trucks and trains, two-deep warehouse stacking and as hydraulic extensions for dual pallet handling, as well as for handling varying sizes of pallets. MSE-FORKS will be introducing a mechanical alternative for this last version whereby the outer sleeve is extended using a patented locking pin. This special bayonet prevents losing the pin in operation. The new Manual Sliding Forks Extensions an ideal solution for companies with budget constraints or for those who don't have the volume to justify hydraulic-telescopic KOOI-REACHFORKS®.
